Bob Woodruff's Amazing Recovery!
It is standard practice to blame the media when the news is increasingly dour in Iraq. Even our most favored ally is abandoning the war effort. Tony B. is packing up his cricket wickets and marmite and is going home.
The two Lauras (Ingraham and Bush) reflect the frustrations of many conservatives who still believe this fiasco in Iraq can be salvaged. They have claimed that the media is just ignoring all the good news and spends most of its time looking for mice in Walter Reed Hospital or sipping Mojitoes in the Green Zone.
Laura Ingraham created a firestorm a few months ago when she asserted that the major reporters are "....inside Baghdad. They're not going around the country, as some reporters are and bloggers are, going around the country reporting on the Internet about stories that reporters from our mainstream news organizations, they're not getting these stories because they're not leaving the Green Zone too often."
Our first lady, Laura Bush, slammed the media for ignoring good news in Iraq. A few months ago on MSNBC, Norah Donnell asked Laura Bush about a new poll that found only 2 in 10 Americans approve of the job that the president is doing on Iraq. Mrs. Bush added that she hopes there is more balanced coverage by the media in the future.
Well, here today, I want to report some of the good news. Remember Bob Woodruff? He is an ABC anchor that stupidly left the Green Zone and went out to find some good news in Baghdad. He was seriously injured when his vehicle hit an IED. At the time, his head injuries seemed very serious. Take a look at his recovery! Now that is good news!
